▸ The Mallorcan company Yoomedoo has closed an investment round of more than 250,000 dollars from the acceleration program organized by Qatar Sports Tech in Doha. Its application is conceived as a grassroots social network that has already over two million registered matches, more than 630,000 players and 12,000 clubs in their system. The founder was on the Sports Value Marketing Deportivo podcast to talk about new technologies applied to football.

▸ Kydemy has been admitted to Lanzadera´s latest incubation program. The Mallorcan startup has developed a specific comprehensive solution for the management of academies, training centers and wellness studies; with support to organize classes, schedules, payments, debts, fees, students and attendance.

▸ Habitissimo, has acquired Preventivi.it, one of the leading companies in the sector in the Italian market, thus strengthening its presence in the Mediterranean country.

▸ Telefónica has already covered 32 municipalities in the Balearic Islands with 5G, three more than initially planned, which means giving 5G coverage to 80% of the population of the islands.

▸ OnlyFans has undoubtedly been one of the phenomena of the past 2020. Ara Balears has published a report by Alba Tarragó in which she talks with several users from the Balearic Islands who offer their subscribers erotic and sexual content on this platform.

▸ The radio program Balears Fa Ciéncia dedicated a talk about deep learning with Nadal Comparini (UIB graduate student and winner of a Trabajo de Fin de Grado award on the analysis of facial expressions using deep learning), Llorenç Valverde (mathematician and computer scientist) and Joana María Perea (dean of the Official College of Computer Engineering of the Balearic Islands).
